Nobody looks after equipment nobody has counted.

Four lines covering everything with a screen on it. Windows and Linux boxes kept updated and healthy, filtering that goes wherever the laptop goes, Macs and iPads run on Apple's own machinery, and phones that make their own calls. Dull work, and it heads off more trouble than anything else in this shop.

The inventory is the whole trick

Ask most owners how many computers the company owns and the answer is wrong by about a fifth. Ask which of them missed this month's updates and the room falls quiet. N-able N-sight hands us the count, the installed software, the update state, the disk health and remote hands, all from a single agent.

Updates get scheduled, then verified, then chased when they fail, and the chasing is the part nobody bothers with. Web filtering rides the same agent, sitting on the machine rather than at your router, so it is still doing its job from a hotel three states away.

Scheduled, verified, then chased when they fail. The chasing is the part nobody bothers with.

Apple and handsets get their own tools

A Mac is not a Windows machine with the keys rearranged, and running one on a tool that believes otherwise produces designers who route around you. Addigy takes enrollment, configuration, software and policy the way Apple meant them to be taken, and the people using the hardware barely register it.

Phones now carry mail, documents and approvals. Zimperium lives on the handset and rules from there, which is how hostile wireless, tampered connections, bad apps and a quietly rooted device all get caught without anybody's personal browsing being shipped off for inspection.

Spec cards and prices

Every figure below is pulled live out of billing while the page opens, which means the number printed is the number a card would see. Whatever you add rests on the order pad, and it stays there afterwards.

Machine Health and Patching

N-able N-sight, keeping the inventory honest and the updates landing

The unglamorous line that quietly does more for you than most of the exciting ones. It knows every machine you own, what is installed on it, which updates it is missing, and whether the disk is about to die. Patches go out on a schedule and somebody checks that they actually landed.

  • The count and the health of Windows, macOS and Linux, plus enrollment for phones and tablets.
  • Operating system updates and other vendors' updates, scheduled, then chased whenever one fails.
  • Remote hands, so fixing something does not require a drive across town.

Web Address Filtering

N-able N-sight web protection, on the machine rather than at the router

Filtering that goes wherever the laptop goes. It lives on the machine, so it still works in a coffee shop and at an airport gate, which is exactly where the router back at your office is useless to anybody. Categories get blocked, reputations get checked, and where the bandwidth went stops being a mystery.

  • Blocks by category and by reputation, from the machine, wherever the machine has got to.
  • Sees browser traffic and program traffic alike, private windows included.
  • Bandwidth counted by site, which settles a surprising number of arguments.

Mac and iPad Management

Addigy, running the Apple side the way Apple expects it to be run

Macs and iPads deserve managing with Apple's own machinery rather than a Windows tool wearing a costume. Addigy enrolls them, sets the configuration, pushes the software and holds the baseline, without turning a designer's laptop into something they resent opening.

  • Enrollment, configuration and software delivery over macOS and iOS.
  • Baselines held and drift corrected with nobody walking over to the desk.
  • A count that is genuinely correct, which matters on the day somebody asks for it.

Phone and Tablet Defense

Zimperium, deciding on the handset itself and not in somebody's cloud

Phones do real work now, which means they carry real risk. Zimperium runs on the handset and makes its decisions there. It notices hostile wireless, tampered connections, apps that should not have been installed, and a device that somebody has quietly rooted. Your staff's personal browsing is not shipped anywhere for the privilege.

  • The call is made on the device, without needing to reach a service first.
  • Catches hostile wireless, tampered connections, and apps behaving badly.
  • Flags a rooted or jailbroken handset before it gets near your accounts.

What comes with these lines

Everything below is part of the monthly price. None of it is a separate quote later on.

  • Agent deployment and device enrollment over whichever platforms you run.
  • Update schedules, with failures chased instead of logged and forgotten.
  • Remote support sessions and scripted fixes with nobody making the drive.
  • A count you could hand straight to somebody who asks for one.
Where this counter ends

What these lines do not do

Fleet work is honest labor with plain limits. These are them.

  • Minding the kit is not detection work. Keeping machines healthy, current and counted is the whole of this counter's work. Calling a running program hostile belongs to the Watch Desk, and it is sold over there.
  • An update can break something. An update occasionally breaks a program the business runs on. We stage and we schedule, and we still cannot promise that somebody else's bad release behaves on your hardware.
  • Personal devices need a decision. A handset your staff own is covered once it is enrolled and not before, and enrolling somebody's own phone is a conversation to have with them rather than a switch to flip.
  • Filtering needs the health line. Address filtering rides that same agent, which is why it goes onto machines already carrying the health and updates line.
  • We do not run your network gear. Switches, firewalls, access points and the cable between them are not managed at this counter. We will work beside whoever does hold them.
